Leningrad, USSR, 1977 | Masha Ivashintsova

From Masha's diary, Nov. 2nd, 1976: «On the evening of Oct. 31st I was waiting for Asya and Melvar in front of Maliy Opera Theater. We were supposed to see „La Sylphide". Then, I noticed a little boy selling a yellow, black muzzled puppy. I followed the impulse and traded our tickets in exchange for the dog. Melvar arrived and he himself squealed like a hurt puppy; he wanted to go to the theater, he wanted to receive his portion of spiritual joy. Instead he had to take Asya home to learn Hindi while I went home with the dog».
